Updates on Kevin De Bruyne transfer
Manchester City’s playmaker Kevin De Bruyne has reportedly agreed to a move to the Saudi Pro League, finalizing personal terms with Al-Ittihad. With only 12 months left on his contract at the Etihad Stadium, De Bruyne’s future has been uncertain for some time.
Despite discussions of a possible extension with Manchester City, no significant progress has been made. De Bruyne, who joined City in 2015, had previously indicated that he would consider an “absurd” offer from the Saudi Pro League while expressing a likelihood to continue with City.
Recent reports suggested that the Premier League champions expected De Bruyne to stay for the 2024-25 season, marking his 10th year with the club.
TEAMtalk claims that the 33-year-old has accepted a lucrative contract from Al-Ittihad, where he will join the likes of Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kante. Negotiations between Al-Ittihad and Manchester City for a transfer fee are set to commence.
Over nine years at Manchester City, De Bruyne has made 382 appearances, scoring 102 goals and providing 170 assists. Despite an injury-hit 2023-24 season, he managed six goals and 18 assists from 26 matches.
De Bruyne’s accolades with City include six Premier League titles, a Champions League trophy, a Club World Cup, a UEFA Super Cup, two FA Cups, five EFL Cups, and two Community Shields.
