Man City eyes £10m-rated youngster as Barcelona decision on Cancelo future revealed
Manchester City are reportedly targeting 16-year-old goalkeeper Douglas Lukjanciks from Everton.
They are willing to pay up to £10 million for the highly-rated youngster, who has already represented England at the U16 and U17 levels, reports The Sun.
Lukjanciks has attracted interest from other clubs, including Bayer Leverkusen, but City seem most keen on securing his signature. They might even offer a player in exchange to sweeten the deal.
Everton, needing to comply with financial regulations, is open to selling players this summer.
Lukjanciks’ dual citizenship with Latvia makes him a domestic player in most European leagues, potentially increasing his transfer value.
Meanwhile, reports claim Barcelona is only interested in extending Joao Cancelo’s loan deal from Manchester City.
The Portuguese joined Barcelona on a season-long loan deal last September and has made 38 appearances in all competitions, scoring four goals.
Cancelo, who joined Barcelona on loan last year, reportedly prefers to stay with the Spanish club despite City’s desire for a permanent transfer.
