Kai Havertz calls Man City title win unfair after Arsenal’s final day heartbreak
Kai Havertz expressed his frustration following Arsenal’s narrow miss in the Premier League title race. Despite securing a 2-1 victory against Everton, courtesy of Havertz’s late winner, the Gunners fell short as Manchester City triumphed over West Ham, clinching the title.
Speaking to TNT Sports after the match via (Express), Havertz didn’t hide his disappointment at Arsenal’s failure to end their 20-year wait for a top-flight crown.
Asked if Arsenal should be proud of pushing Manchester City to the brink, Havertz replied, “Right now I can’t think about that. Sometimes it’s not fair in football, but we have to accept it.
Football is hard. But hopefully, we can go again next year and give Arsenal fans what they deserve. But I can tell them next year we are going to be an even better team, and we are going to give everything next year again.”
Manchester City’s 3-1 victory over West Ham at the Etihad meant that Arsenal’s win was not enough to secure the title.
The result was a bitter pill for Havertz and his teammates, who had hoped to end Arsenal’s two-decade-long wait for Premier League glory.
Despite the disappointment, Havertz’s comments reflect a determination to come back stronger next season. The German forward, who has been instrumental in Arsenal’s campaign, promises that the team will be better prepared and more competitive in the upcoming season.
