Joshua Kimmich, a versatile German international currently playing for Bayern Munich, is reportedly considering leaving the club amidst uncertainties regarding his future. Manchester City, known for their strategic acquisitions from top European clubs, have shown interest in Kimmich.

Recent Developments

In the recent FC Bayern Insider, journalist Christian Falk shared insights into Kimmich’s situation. As Kimmich enters the final year of his contract with Bayern, there are indications that he might be open to a move. Falk noted that Kimmich has expressed disappointment with his treatment at Bayern and is contemplating his future.

“He’s a bit disappointed with the way he’s been treated at the club. At the moment, he can’t find a club that will pay his salary, but he’s sitting on one cheek for this one year. And he will also play and can then negotiate to leave on a free transfer. And then his salary, reportedly estimated at €20m (£16m), can be realized by others because if he costs nothing, they save the transfer fee,” Falk explained.

Manchester City’s Interest

Manchester City, under Pep Guardiola, has a history of successful signings from Europe’s top leagues. Kimmich, who played 36 games under Guardiola at Bayern, could be a strategic addition to City’s roster. His experience, versatility in both defensive and midfield roles, and familiarity with Guardiola’s style of play make him a valuable asset.

Journalist Florian Plettenberg also indicated that Bayern might be willing to sell Kimmich, further fueling speculation about a potential move. Kimmich’s ability to play multiple positions effectively adds to his appeal for a club like Manchester City, which values tactical flexibility.

Joshua Kimmich’s potential move to Manchester City could be a significant development in the current transfer window. His departure from Bayern Munich appears increasingly likely, given his contract situation and expressed dissatisfaction.
