Jack Grealish reveals Pep Guardiola’s behind-the-scenes personal at Manchester City
Jack Grealish has given a glimpse into what Pep Guardiola is like behind the scenes at Manchester City, sharing insights into the manager’s intense and supportive nature.
Grealish concludes his third Premier League season with Manchester City, he reflects on the challenges he’s faced and the crucial support from his manager.
Grealish on Guardiola’s Intensity
Grealish, speaking on talkSPORT via ( Manchester City News,), highlighted Guardiola’s intensity, noting how the manager’s reactions can vary based on the team’s performance.
“He’s quite intense, as you’ve probably seen,” Grealish said, referencing clips from Manchester City’s Treble documentary. “Sometimes, I find with him, if we’ve played well, he goes more mad, whereas if we haven’t played that well, then he wants to give us a bit of love.”
Supportive Manager
Beyond his intensity, Guardiola’s supportive side has been a key factor in Grealish’s season. The winger shared that despite a challenging season, Guardiola has been there for him on a personal level.
“There have been times this season where I’ve struggled off the pitch with my own stuff… He’s been there for me, I’ve been in his office a few times with just me and him. I’ve been out for food with him and he’s been unbelievable,” Grealish revealed.
“He’s a great manager, in my opinion, easily the best ever but more than anything he’s a really good person. He has a big heart and I thank him for that this season.”
Grealish’s Difficult Season
After a successful campaign contributing to Manchester City’s Treble win last season, Grealish faced a tougher season individually.
He started in 23 of the 28 Premier League games he appeared in last season, but only managed to start in 10 of the 20 league games this time around. Despite these challenges, Grealish’s admiration for Guardiola and their strong relationship underscores the manager’s ability to connect with and support his players, even those who are not regular starters.
Looking Ahead
As Manchester City prepares for the FA Cup final against Manchester United on May 25, Grealish’s reflections on Guardiola’s influence provide a deeper understanding of the team’s dynamics.
Victory in the upcoming match would secure a domestic double for City, further cementing Guardiola’s legacy and his pivotal role in supporting his players through highs and lows.
