Manchester City won their fourth straight Premier League title, Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville suggested who Pep Guardiola’s favourite player is.

Manchester City got the job done on Sunday, beating West Ham United 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium to clinch the title ahead of Arsenal.

The Gunners beat Everton 2-1 at the Emirates, but City’s victory saw them become champions of England once more.

The heroic Phil Foden scored two goals for City to cap off his wonderful season, while Rodri also scored in the second half to put the game to bed. Mohammed Kudus scored a sublime acrobatic effort to give West Ham hope.

That was very much against the run of play, though, and it was a rather comfortable afternoon in the end.

As the players went up to collect their medals, Gary Neville picked out who he believes is Pep Guardiola‘s favourite player in the squad.

Bernardo Silva: Guardiola’s Favourite?

Against West Ham, Bernardo Silva made his 48th appearance of the season for City. The Portugal international has featured heavily once again, after staying at the club last summer. There was a lot of talk about Bernardo’s future, but in the end, he stayed put and signed a new contract.

There will be more speculation about him after the FA Cup final. The player is said to want his future resolved by the end of Euro 2024.

Barcelona are once again very keen to sign him. The majority of City fans will really hope he stays for another season, as will Pep, who just adores him.

As Bernardo collected his sixth winners’ medal, Neville said on Sky: “I always get the feeling he’s Pep’s favourite player. He always plays.”

Bernardo’s Versatility and Dedication

Ultimately, the £43 million ace is a manager’s dream. He can play so many different positions, but he always plays to the highest standard. He works his socks off every single game, shows remarkable tactical discipline, and understands tactics so well. He also makes things happen – yesterday, he notched his ninth and tenth assists of the season.

Pep probably also loves Foden and Rodri for what they bring to the team. But Bernardo is surely right up there when it comes to the manager’s favourite players in the squad.
