Garnacho’s brother celebrates FA Cup final with playful jab at Guardiola
Manchester United secured a surprising 2-1 victory over Manchester City in the FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium.
Alejandro Garnacho, who opened the scoring for the Red Devils, saw his brother Roberto take to social media to celebrate the win with a light-hearted dig at City manager Pep Guardiola.
United, considered underdogs heading into the match, upset their rivals thanks to first-half goals from Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo.
Guardiola admitted to tactical shortcomings after the game, conceding that City struggled to execute their usual style.
Following the victory, Roberto Garnacho posted an edited photo on social media featuring his brother holding a dog with Guardiola’s face superimposed, accompanied by the caption “Manchester is red Pepe.”
City’s quest for a historic double of Premier League and FA Cup titles fell short, leaving them with only the league trophy for the season.
Guardiola, however, remained positive, praising his team’s performance throughout the campaign.
“It’s normal for teams to lose finals,” Guardiola said. “This season has been extraordinary, fighting for all the trophies. We’ll rest and come back next season.”
The win brings much-needed silverware to Manchester United and potentially secures manager Erik ten Hag’s future at the club.
